DEE-ART
For what? For whom? About what?

The creative work of every artist is mostly his reflection. That is why art can provide banal phenomena with organ sounding, but sometimes something beautiful can become ordinary and inexpressive. Painting is clot of emotions, collision of outer world with our inner feelings. A man of art transforms the reality, correlating facts seen from the outside with the facts experienced inside. Painting is like a man. We get pleasure from communicating with "easy", happy people; many of us are looking for a dialog with clever, spiritually rich persons. We get in contact with the outward world and aspire to our self-actualization. An attempt to express our inner world by a certain deed is an act of creation and in this sense all of us are artists. Fine art is the way to perceive ourselves and, perhaps, it is the most important one because the process of inner changes always becomes the property of the people. What do we know about ourselves, what place and what role do we prepare for ourselves, how and whom do we feel? Our words, deeds, paintings will answer these questions. Images that we reveal will show the way to the goal we are trying to achieve, will help to understand the motives of our actions. Self-knowledge, but not the training of technical devices, is the starting point for DEE-ART.

There comes a point when our fortune, health, life depend on the choice of some decision. Often we are not aware of our own possibilities, we don't realize our actual potential, and still we take other's stereotypes neglecting our inner world. It is very important to know what in fact stimulates us, why we behave in a certain way. Respectful attitude toward ourselves and our world helps us to get rid of most disasters and illnesses. Expressing the surroundings by means of art we estimate our inner state latently. We are able to change a lot if we continue to examine our relation to the outward world. Cultivating new qualities of our personality we reveal possibilities we had only dreamt of before. DEE-ART helps us to live in chime with ourselves.

Troubles may not happen. All plans will be performed in due time. But there is one condition - the right choice of your way. When our aims are undetermined we are playthings of outside ambitions. But when we express thoughts and feelings by images we get invaluable information about ourselves, thus, we create our own course and plan. If the choice is not accidental and every act is stipulated by spiritual work we are invulnerable to all disasters. Whoever we may be, whatever situation we may get into - there is always a chance to change our life wth a help of DEE-ART.

DEE-ART - CURE BY ART

The flows of visions and the wish to reflect them lead an artist to a state, resulting not only in an emotional outer explosion, which Is realized In the creation of a work of art, but in inner changes as such. Here we speak of changes In consciousness. The emotional charge of a work of art depends greatly on an idea ^caught" out of the flow and strengthened by its realization in objective reality. The regeneration In new space and form thought of before becomes virtually tangible and accessible. The process, thus being repeated, encourages an artist to create his own territory which subjectively has its specific order, laws and Influences. Finally the artist himself is kept as a hostage by the ideas previously caught from the flow of his inspiration. Two realities are put on the scales of consciousness, as the Illusion seems to be preferred to reality. When the choice in favor of illusion is evident, all the rest loses its sense and meaning. The self-destruction of a creator begins with its devastating consequences.

Dee-Art is an art trend, aiming at developing new territories of inner world, which promote mental health.

There exists a range of symbols, that everyone (whether mentally unbalanced or not) associates with the domain of inner world. These symbols, being reflected even by an unexperienced observer, give a specialist abundant material as far as patient's mental life is concerned and help to understand his or her psychic peculiarities. By means of the subject appropriately chosen for the painting it’s possible not only to make a psychological description of a patient and reveal his weak points, but to create conditions for changing the state of mind in the process of regular studies. The more conscious the process of inner transformation (based on the previous tests) will be, the more appreciable the results. If a patient is psychologically disturbed (either temporarily as a result of a stress or constantly because of an illness), then the reabilitative actions at the first stage should not be evident to him. The practice of reflecting inner emotions by means of images that have their counterparts in real life being set, the patient is suggested to modify the images; the suggestion should be based on a convincing example, connected with the patient's life and thoughts. The specialist gradually, from lesson to lesson, free the patient from negative images of his or her inner world (bearing in mind the patient's psychological peculiarities) and thus changes the patient's vision of outer world. Negative images are inevitably substituted for by the other ones, sometimes contrary (it depends on a degree of psychic correction needed). On the surface the similar process takes place. While changing himself, the patient changes his attitude towards people around him.

TEN PRINCIPLES OF DEE-ART

1. Imagery.

Correlation between form and content shows the quality and quantity of effort made in the process of creation. But it is Imagery dealt with reality that allows making an estimate to what an extent the psychological conditions are reflected.

2. Expressiveness.

It is the plastic art language than greatly determines the appreciation of the imagery. Its choice depends on the author's attitude to the outer world and is a test of inner conflictness. The smoothness of form, determined by a leitmotiv, leads to peace of mind.

3. Symbolicalness.

The character of Images reflected needs special coloring. We choose from spectrum the colors expressing our idea to a great extent. The prevalence of color chosen at random, in spite of its intensity, results In the loss of expressiveness.

4. Sacredness.

Only the states of mind deeper than momentary emotions are worth painting. When In a hurry to express something evident and ordinary, we find ourselves in a hustle and bustle that has nothing in common with the process of reflection.

5. Metaphysicalness.

The phenomena of outer world serve as a base for the visualization of the form of a work of art. Correlating our ideas with them, we draw conclusions, the realization of the artist's intention being dependent on them.

6. Positiveness.

Content, colors or forms, which are obviously negative or have some ulterior motives, are a concealed weapon for psychic damage. Realizing negative emotions, creating image systems, carrying destruction, we activate an inner program for self-annihilation.

7. Instinctiveness.

The creative process is similar to conception. In ideas forming we intuitively offer the role of co-creator to opposite sex or an object identifying it. On the surface the process can manifest itself by representation of naked bodies or forms denoting sexual organs.

8. Spatiality.

Form and its surroundings are equal parts of the artist's Intention. While enveloping the motive by accompanying details, we reproduce the original surroundings as indispensable part of the main idea.

9. Non-confessionality.

Images being result of reflection belong to us. They are important as part of our existence. So the process shouldn't be attached to any party or confession in order to avoid conflicts.

10. Reabilitativeness.

The degree and quality of inner world development is determined by our attitude towards ourselves. When we shift our problems onto other people, we degrade. When we analyze our emotions and feelings, finding abilities for their realization, we discover new potentialities of us.

1998-2000

The History of Dee-Art

In the end of 1993 one of my experiments determined the sphere of my interests in art. The aim of this experiment was practical examination of the idea called "the effect of free hand". The sequence of the experiment was the large series of graphic works made blindfold. Representation of each emotional splash took not more than 10 seconds and later the works got the name "Drawings for Meditation". The conclusions that I made according to the results of the experiment led me to think about opportunity of purposeful changes of mind in the process of creation. I was interested in the specificity of the figurative row that ill-minded people have. Soon I crossed the threshold of the specialized institution. Thus in 1994 the studio at psycho-neurological hospital #20 in the South-Western administrative region of Moscow was founded.
The years of new researches passed before the artistic stylistics that meets my requirements was confirmed. At the same time the basic principles that determined the practical method of the program "Healing with Art" were formed.
Since 1998 during the experiments I applied the basic principles of the program and noted the development of the professionalism of the learners. The work of the studio was recognized and the level of its development became higher. In 1999 there was opened the gallery where more than hundred paintings and drawings of studio artists are exhibited as well as my works that illustrate the methods. Part of the works of learners is in Tsaritsyno rehabilitation centre in mental hospital #20. To keep the purity of experiment the works of program "Healing with Art" did not leave the places mentioned above and did not take part in commercial projects. In 2000 due to constant renovation of the exhibition our activity became known in mass media and among specialists. Because of the recognized individuality of methods and stylistic unusualness of works there was necessity of determination of art school. Thus the term "Dee-Art" that means both rational and sensible perception of reality appeared.
In 2001 under the patronage of the Russian Association of art critics the album "Dee-Art - Art of XXI Century" with the information about main principals of trends in works was published. One year later in the context of retrospective view of my creative work in State Duma of Russia the conception of Dee-Art was presented to politicians, cultural workers and men of science. The works of the studio artists got the high appreciation and deserved attention. In 2003 the Council of the Professional Artists decided to enlist the creators that work under my methods to the united rating of professional artists of Russia.
